Covai Labs

A one-person open-source workshop by @deadrat-in.

Building local-first, privacy-respecting browser tools and open-source utilities.

Personal Site Open Source Directory 100% Local Sponsor

👋 Hey there!

I'm an independent developer trying hard to build useful things, stay afloat, and contribute honestly to the open-source community.

Covai Labs isn't a large company or venture-backed startup — it's just my personal workshop where I build tools to scratch my own itches. I build mostly local-first browser extensions, extraction engines, and developer utilities that respect your privacy and don't lock your data behind monthly subscriptions or third-party servers.

If any of these tools save you time or help your daily workflow, that makes the effort worthwhile.

🛠️ Things I'm Building

Project What it does Links & Stores
ai-chat-exporter AI Chat Exporter (ACE) — Export and back up your AI conversations to Markdown, JSON, HTML, Word, and PNG entirely on your machine. Includes LaTeX math formatting and one-click chat continuation across platforms. Chrome Firefox MPL 2.0
decant-browser-extension Decant 🍷 — A distraction-free web clipper and research batcher. Turn any article or your entire open tabs session into clean Markdown with 1-click export to Obsidian, Logseq, or Bear. Chrome Firefox AGPL-3.0
decant (decant-core) decant-core — The shared parsing engine underneath ACE and Decant. Maintains normalized parsers for 18+ AI chat platforms and web readability, so platform changes can be fixed once for everyone. npm AGPL-3.0
JobFoundry JobFoundry 🛠️ — An offline-friendly, honest job search dashboard. Captures postings directly from 87+ ATS/boards via your own browser session, deduplicates with SimHash, scores fit, and truthfully tailors resumes. Web AGPL-3.0

💡 How I Build

  • Your data stays yours: Everything runs locally in your browser or machine. No hidden analytics, no telemetry trackers, no phone-home servers.
  • Solving real annoyances: If I build something, it's usually because existing tools are bloated, behind paywalls, send private data to clouds, or break every other week.
  • Fix once, share freely: Shared packages like decant-core are open-source so other developers don't have to keep reverse-engineering AI DOMs in isolation.

☕ Support & Connect

Independent open-source development takes a lot of time and effort. If my work helps you in your day-to-day:

  • ⭐ Star the repositories — it genuinely helps others discover them!
  • ☕ Sponsor on GitHub — helps keep the project active and independent.
  • 💬 Say hello: Feel free to open an issue, start a discussion, or connect via deadrat.in or covai.org.

Crafted with care by a solo indie developer. Thank you for stopping by! 🧡
