I think it would be useful to be able to run all tests with both SHA-1 and SHA-256 hashes using a single cargo nextest command without having to set environment variables more than once.
I'm not clear on whether the plan here is consistent with that. Even if not, I don't think this it's a blocker for this PR: even if I'm right that this should be possible--and perhaps I'm not--that's still not at all the same as it being a priority.
