Overview
A bond's price moves opposite to its yield. Two measures describe how far: duration and convexity.
Duration
Duration is a bond's price sensitivity to a change in yield. Higher duration means bigger swings.
PRICE–YIELD CURVE
When yields rise, the price slides down the curve, and long-duration bonds fall furthest.
Convexity
Convexity is the curve's bend. It makes price gains a little bigger than price losses.
