A friend of mine gets counseling services from a physiologist.
It helps decrease his sadness/It helps his sadness decrease.

Which one is correct?
Please, give me your advice.

    • By the way, I think you may mean psychologist rather than physiologist, as the provider of counseling services. Those physiologists who work with patients at all normally work with patients who have physical injuries.
