Bolivarian Navy of Venezuela
Your recent edits to the table of ships at Bolivarian Navy of Venezuela have left some damage. I'm not sure whether to make some bold cuts or just revert your changes - could you take a look and clean up the broken section of table? pauli133 (talk) 17:05, 9 December 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for the note, pauli133. I see that I had inadvertently deleted a bit of the table formatting syntax. I've fixed that table now. N2e (talk) 17:56, 9 December 2023 (UTC)
The WP:ONUS is on those to gain the consensus for the inclusion of disputed content. Other editors have objected to the content at the talkpage, ergo there is no consensus for inclusion. Please revert. Thanks. Hemiauchenia (talk) 20:59, 9 December 2023 (UTC)

Is the Tesla, Inc. lead now sufficiently short?
Hi N2e. On December 20, you added the "Lead too long" template to the Tesla, Inc. article, and said: "Some details, e.g. deets of company formation, might beneficially move to the article body."
I have now shortened the lead by one paragraph to conform to the Lead "length guidelines" (which say it should be at most 4 paragraphs).
I have also removed the detail of Musk's initial $6.5 million investment, as it's not critical.
Are those changes sufficient to shorten the lead and remove the "Lead too long" template? ReferenceMan (talk) 15:42, 14 January 2024 (UTC)
- Yes! Thanks for improving Wikipedia, ReferenceMan! I've removed the tag. N2e (talk) 19:23, 14 January 2024 (UTC)

Tesla cybercab
Part of the reaons here is that so often Musk is making stuff up regarding timelines. So, this isn't like GM saying something is going into production by next year and of course it actually does. But noting that Musk is saying this, so this isn't some kind of corporate committment, but just him saying stuff.... --ZimZalaBim talk 04:06, 16 October 2024 (UTC)

Tesla as a source?
Hi @N2e:
I guess you think Tesla site
https://www.tesla.com/NACS
cited on top of the table is not a valid source for
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tesla_Supercharger
NACS adoption timeline
"...citation at the top of a table section is always out of date and fails to cover many subsequent edits..."
That's the whole point. Tesla grants access to 5 companies currently. We need to check with Tesla's source on top of the table against the other 5 companies to see whether there's any discrepancy. Tamnguyenrn (talk) 22:18, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
- I don't know what you are talking about User:Tamnguyenrn. Can you provide the name of the article and some specific edit.
- Obviously, Tesla can be a source. But the problem with that primary source, especially at the "top of the table" as you said, could be many things. Perhaps it not easily verifiable as to the date the previous editor checked it; or perhaps it is simply a better source needed situation. I'd have to know what article or edit you are talking about to be able to tell. N2e (talk) 02:14, 2 November 2024 (UTC)

Hi N2e. Thank you for your work on November 2024 Amsterdam attacks. Another editor, GrabUp, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

GrabUp - Talk 04:03, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
- Man @GrabUp:, I worked really hard to find another article first, before creating that one. I did over a half dozen Wikipedia searches, and nothing came up. So figured I'd just stub out a new article, following normal policy (notability, verifiability, nothing undue or too likely to show a POV, etc.)
- Welp, the content will clearly have to be merged. But I think that the title I chose is the far more neutral one. N2e (talk) 04:42, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, I support your title. The article was created just 6 minutes before yours. GrabUp - Talk 04:59, 8 November 2024 (UTC)

Although I see where you were coming from, I've reverted your edits to Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15. Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! DreamRimmer bot II (talk) 16:27, 16 May 2025 (UTC)
- This is weird. I think I created an article for this newish company one time based on a few articles I'd seen in the space press and a few of the companies in the holding were doing notable work. I don't believe I worked on it after that. (but perhaps I only created a redirect to another article; I don't recall, and cannot tell just now, 'cause of the deletion).
- Now I cannot find any article in Drafts at [[Draft:Voyager Space Holdings|Voyager Space Holdings]], and there is only a redirect for Voyager Space Holdings in the article mainspace, last edited in 2024, but looks like I've never had anything to do with that redirect. I'm confused.
- Either way, I read in my news feed this morning that this company has just recently filed to go public, so likely more notable stuff in the future. So the company article ought to be made able to be worked on once again. But the request "undeletion by following the instructions [[WP:REFUND/G13|'''here''']]". link you provided is not working, 'cause it says the article already exists.
- I'm confused as to how to fix this. N2e (talk) 12:18, 19 May 2025 (UTC)

Is this the same as Operation Spider's Web? Gjs238 (talk) 21:32, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- Hmm. Yes, it would appear that two parallel articles were created describing the events of the massive drone attack on the strategic bombers of multiple Russian air bases. I would expect they will be cleanly merged and one become a redirect to the other. N2e (talk) 22:50, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- OK, well, my understanding is that you created the redundant article and was hoping that you would perform the clean merge and redirect.
- Gjs238 (talk) 13:09, 2 June 2025 (UTC)
- Whomever proposed the merge should start a discussion section at where they left a link for the "Discuss" item. I looked. No section has been started. I would be happy to join in on it then; but it seems out of synch for me to try to unilaterally do anything with the extant article by myself, which was after all created in good faith only because no other article on the thing could be found. Moreover, multiple editors have worked on the page, so needs to be done by consensus. N2e (talk) 18:05, 2 June 2025 (UTC)

Hi N2e, I've undone your tagging of Panzerschokolade as the entry was never listed at WP:RfD. If you'd like to nominate it again, please ensure the redirect gets placed at the discussion log. You might find WP:Twinkle helpful in automating those steps.
Thanks, Bobby Cohn 🍁 (talk) 15:31, 22 July 2025 (UTC)
- I couldn't figure it out, Bobby Cohn. I just noted that there is no mention of Panzerschokolade in the article that the Panzerschokolade redirect goes to; nor is there any verifiable source that ties it to the other prescription drugs that German doctors were prescribing in WWII. If Wikipedia leaves the poor redirect in place, that is okay with me. Will leave it to someone else to note the lack of connection. Cheers. N2e (talk) 17:24, 22 July 2025 (UTC)

WikiProject SpaceX
Hi. Would you be interested in joining a WikiProject SpaceX? If you are please add support on it proposal page. @N2e:
- I don't know exactly when this question was added to my Talk page; but it was a long time ago. Adding this cmt to it, so it gets a date field, and the bot will one day pick it up and archive it as it should. N2e (talk) 00:31, 18 November 2025 (UTC)

- Yeah, can't see that that Interbank Information Network is even explicated in that article at the redirect target any longer. So fine by me if that redir disappears. Cheers. N2e (talk) 19:30, 12 February 2026 (UTC)
Anyplace for serious discussion w other editors about the future of the English Wikipedia?
I ran across your thread over at the Village Pump.
You seemed to be the only one there who had any clue of the magnitude of what is coming.
Have you read this article?: Accelerating change
Accordingly, diffusion of technology is speeding up. TVs diffused faster than the telephone, PCs spread faster than TV, cellphones were adopted even quicker, with smartphones diffusing with even greater speed than that.
The diffusion of generative AI is surpassing all of those, and this pattern will continue with each successive technology.
The pipeline includes multi-modal models, reasoning engines, iterative agents, and embodied AI. The latter is the application of AI to robots, drones, vehicles, and machines in general to enable them to receive natural language instructions and learn from demonstrations.
You look out your window today, and you see zero robots. In five years, who knows?
Dario Amodei, the CEO of Anthropic, predicts that AIs will be able to do his job within the foreseeable future, but before that, perhaps 2026 or 2027, AIs will have advanced sensory perception.
They'll be able to collect their own data in the physical world.
What will Wikipedia be in the midst of all of this?
A memory.
At some point, everybody will be getting their knowledge from an AI that composes it all on the spot at one's command.
For a slight sense of what that will feel like, go to perplexity.ai and tell it to write a book. You pick the subject. It's about 10 times better than it was 2 years ago. And in 2 years it may be 20 to 100 times better than it is today.
Will people even read anymore, or will they prefer the quick videos their AIs can create to show and tell them whatever they want to know on demand?
How long will this progression take?
Faster than most people expect.
Sincerely, — The Transhumanist 13:59, 17 January 2026 (UTC)
P.S.: The above assumes friendly AI, hoping we're that lucky.
- Yeah, I tried over there to see about serious discussion, but got mostly midwit comments about AIs in general or how Wikipedia is better than xyz. Seemed a poor forum to find serious ppl to discuss the future of Wikipedia generally, given the existence today of so-called AIs, and the undoubted continuation of that technology advance. So I just let it go. (It did, rather obviously in the Pump, have a miniscule audience.)
- So cool you find interest in such topics. I had not read the article on Accelerating change, but did read it today; tweaked a couple of things. I've been quite aware of the thesis on accelerating accelerating change since the 1990s, and certainly accept the basic thesis. I have not really taken the time to overview the history of various thinkers/philosophers on the matter, and that article did provide a high-level intro to that. (i actually love the "history of _____ thought" topics on various matters of acquired human knowledge. i even wrote on the topic of the history of economic thought on self-organizing social behavior. ... and how various technology baselines can support whole new avenues/areas for human self-organization. ... which, as I think about it now, is very much a case where AIs, and increasingly capable AIs, will radically (again) facilitate entirely new vectors for human self organization, and outcomes to emerge.)
- THanks for the note. N2e (talk) 17:30, 17 January 2026 (UTC)
- Here's a philosophical question for you to ponder: "With AIs today being able to produce in seconds subject-based articles and chapters starting to approach Wikipedia quality, what will they be able to do in a year, 2 years, 4 years?"
- Asked another way: "Will prompting an AI replace looking things up?"
- Another article you might be interested in is recursive self-improvement (RSI). It provides some insight on how computers themselves may contribute to the accelerating acceleration of technology. Even now, RSI is happening, through programmers using AI coding tools. While not autonomous, it's still autocatalytic. The pair (programmer + AI) is the thing that is recursively self-improving. So, one can argue that we are already in the midst of an intelligence explosion.
- It isn't a giant leap of logic, based on the vast array of tasks that are currently being automated, or the alarming number abilities that have emerged, to expect that RSI will also be automated or emerge. Computers directing their own learning, or redesigning themselves, or both. While a single computer acquiring RSI qualifies as an intelligence explosion, the fireworks really take off once combined with mass production of components to add to a single entity, or production lines of complete computers also capable of RSI. This can theoretically be decentralized with 3D-printers, and therefore, less likely to contain.
- As Wikipedia is included in the training data of virtually all AIs, it might remain part of the legacy. The community and foundation supporting it may fade away over time, but the Wikipedia data set may live on in one form or another inside the computers of the future.
- Hopefully, artificial general intelligence (AGI), if or when it does emerge, achieves the better qualities of humankind from the wisdom Wikipedia and the rest of the data set we (the human race) have provided to it.
- Keep your fingers crossed.
- For the time being, Wikipedia is positioning to remain in the game. In that link's article, which if about the WMF monetizing WP data to help continue funding WP operations, Jimbo Wales was quoted as saying "“You can imagine a world where you can ask the Wikipedia search box a question and it will quote to you from Wikipedia.”

Speaking of self-organization...
Are you still looking for serious discussion on AI and Wikipedia's future?
I was having trouble finding a venue to talk about this stuff, so I started a discussion over at the Help Project to explore how we could and should be supporting users who try out AI on Wikipedia, with help pages.
I invited everyone I could find involved with AI on Wikipedia, and all the members of the Help Project as well. It has been interesting seeing the meshing of the attitude to protect content from AI hallucinations even if we have to ban AI, with the view that people need guidance on how to use AI apps (chatbots and the like) responsibly that they will be using anyways, into a single discussion.
It's centered around the context of choosing an AI procedure, and then writing a help page on it.
It seems to have hit a nerve.
The opening phase, which we're still on, is brainstorming every activity we can think of that an AI could potentially be used in relation to or on Wikipedia.
In the midst of this is a lot of excited discussion about the dangers of doing this wrong.
The discussion has attracted some editors with a high degree of experience using AI and developing AI tools.
If you are interested, come check it out.
Hope to see you there. Sincerely, — The Transhumanist 06:24, 24 February 2026 (UTC)
- @The Transhumanist:, sure, quite interested in the discussion. Although I start out pessimistic about the probabilities of the discussion staying focused and on the rails given the current state of debate in both AI in general and English Wikipedia bias. I'll try to get over there and have a look. N2e (talk) 13:20, 24 February 2026 (UTC)
- LOL. Focused? We're all over the place. That's half the fun. Lots going on there. Learning. Networking. Tip and technique sharing. Editing (see this new page: Wikipedia:Artificial intelligence resources). Consensus building... There's already general agreement on at least one direction to move forward. Idea generation. And expanding everyone's option awareness. It's a party! — The Transhumanist 15:44, 24 February 2026 (UTC)
- Well, you called that one right. They did derail it. Now the question is, why didn't I see that one coming? LOL. — The Transhumanist 01:15, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
