About your edits to Instruktsiya po Vyzhivaniyu
[edit]Hi! I came across some of your earlier edits to the article on Instruktsiya po Vyzhivaniyu while I was working on it. I was pleasantly surprised to see that you had added Russian-language sources, since it’s rare to find someone outside Russia who know the band that well.
I also noticed from your music-related contributions that we may have some overlapping interests, particularly Russian/Siberian rock/punk music, black metal, and other related styles. I’m always glad to meet other editors interested in this kind of music, so I thought I’d say hello. No pressure to reply, of course, but I’d be glad to exchange recommendations or talk about music and music-related articles here on Wikipedia.

- Hello! It's alright because I can talk to someone who I have some interests with. I first found Siberian punk through Yegor Letov / GrOb (unsurprisingly hehe, he's like a gateway drug to it all) back in 2024 and I was fascinated ever since then.. IPV I found sometime in 2025 and at first I was hesitant to listen to them because of how the original version of the article mentioned that they were on some "extremist list" (an over-exaggeration considering that they only have one extremely offensive track) but I later gave them a try and they've become one of my favourite Russian bands. I don't speak Russian but I understand Polish which means I can get a lot of the words down, and it's also extremely fascinating to see how such scenes develop under such repressive regimes. I still need to listen to some of the other quintessential bands though (I've had Kommunizm on my bucket list for a while now).
- As for black metal, I don't listen nearly as much as I did back in 2024, but it still remains a guilty pleasure of mine. I have two Darkthrone CDs, a Dark Funeral CD and a Mayhem CD. I have been on the hunt for a Dunkelheit disc for a few years now - this is an album that I consider to be the DSOTM of black metal.
- Recommendations would be fun.. A band I like a lot is Siekiera, they're a PPR-era Polish coldwave band with somewhat dark themes in their music. They're pretty neat. Thank you for reaching out! I really enjoy talking about music. :)

- Thanks for your reply! I also discovered Siberian punk through Yegor Letov last year, his music really fascinated me, and has a big influence on my personal philosophy. As for IpV, I absolutely love their double album Смертное / Армия белого света. I'd personally compare it to literature works by Dostoevsky. Also, I came across a detailed review of it that helped me understand the album on a deeper level: http://imperium.lenin.ru/LENIN/22lmdg/22lmdg.html#ipv.
- I checked out Siekiera as you suggested, and Nowa Aleksandria is a great album, I really enjoy that fast-paced post-punk sound with an industrial influence. It reminded me a bit of Molchat Doma, but sharper and more aggressive. For Eastern European post-punk and coldwave, I'd like to recommend Промышленная Архитектура. It's the personal project of Dmitry Selivanov, former guitarist of GrOb. Their only album was recorded in 1988, and Selivanov sadly took his own life the following year. The lyrics and music are both excellent, and I really admire his guitar-playing style. I'd also recommend Свидетельство о смерти, a lo-fi post-punk band from the 90s based in Znamensk, a former closed city. Their music is full of absurdity and despair, and I'd say their 2001 album Привет is a good place to start.
- Anyway, I hope you enjoy these. It's nice to find someone who shares this kind of interest. Feel free to write back anytime, take care! SophusLin (talk) 01:44, 17 July 2026 (UTC)
