RE: Vehicle model years

A car manufacturer can claim their car is from the future if they want, but from an encyclopaedic perspective that is clearly WP:PATENTNONSENSE and it's a violation of WP:CRYSTAL to say "this is a picture of a 2024 Trabant" without any context. If we say "this is a picture of a 2024-model year Trabant" then that would probably conform with WP:CRYSTAL, but in WP:PLAINENGLISH saying "this is a picture of a 2024 Trabant" means "this is a photograph taken in the future" to anyone who isn't familiar with North America-specific industry WP:JARGON. Transit police
