Categories

[edit]

Thanks for this template, can we divide it into categories? Maybe physicists, mathematicians, engineers, biologists? ReyHahn (talk) 16:05, 3 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

That is on my to do list! MumphingSquirrel (talk) 20:21, 3 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
I proceeded with it, the categories are not perfect because of many mixed professions (biochemists, physicochemists, biophysics and so on).--ReyHahn (talk) 09:50, 4 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Where is the source?

[edit]

Where is the source that verifies this list? It is not even mentioned on Eiffel tower. Isn't this WP:Speculation? Johnjbarton (talk) 02:48, 4 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

It is in List of the 72 names on the Eiffel Tower, and in each article concerned.--ReyHahn (talk) 09:18, 4 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
So the sources
According to the sources, these are 72 French scientists. "Only French women scientists or those who worked in connection with France, born after 1789 and deceased, can be considered." The template title uses what I believe to be an Americanism, "STEM", making it misleading. French female scientists proposed to be added to the Eiffel Tower would match the source. At the very least the link on the title should point to List of the 72 names on the Eiffel Tower and the sources and criterion should be in the template docs. (These are protected pages). I agree.--ReyHahn (talk) 08:51, 5 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
I just learned this is part of the Event:EiffelWomen.--ReyHahn (talk) 15:32, 8 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Male names

[edit]

I just created {{Names on the Eiffel Tower}} I think we can merge the two templates (either by mixing women and men, or by separating them in the template) once they women have been added to the tower.--ReyHahn (talk) 15:43, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
