Comparative anatomy and divisions of bones

[edit]

Hello! I'm here from the animal anatomy side of Wikipedia, and don't interact much with the human anatomy community here or elsewhere. Many of the bones included in this template are fusions of multiple bones present in other animals - e.g., the human occipital is a fusion of the basioccipital, exoccipitals, supraoccipital, and interparietal, the temporal is a fusion of the squamosal, the ectotympanic, and the petrosal (itself a fusion of the prootic, opisthotic, and possibly epiotic); etc. It may be useful to add these and other homologies to this template.
