The result of the move request was: moved. There seems to be an overwhelming favorite in the current title scheme, and so WP:CONSISTENT controls; but if there's a desire to change that pattern, I would encourage a broader RM or RfC. theleekycauldron (talk • she/her) 22:32, 23 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
This is why I put this up for an RM discussion, because I'm not sure what the common spelling actually is, and I do not want to start a move war. As I basically stated, List of Olympic venues and all the applicable articles use the singular "Olympic". And I also originally thought this could be a WP:ENGVAR issue (the current consensus on these articles is to use the variety of English of the host country: the 2002, 2010 and 2028 articles use North American English and the MDY date format; while the 2024 and 2026 pages use European English and the DMY date format). But the issue of whether to use the singular "Olympic" or plural "Olympics" cuts across those varieties of English. Zzyzx11 (talk) 17:25, 24 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Comment: Tricky. I think there's a subtle difference. In List of Olympic venues, Olympic is an adjective, and the page is about venues that are Olympic, i.e. that were used in Olympic games. But in 2012 Summer Olympics venues, Olympics is a noun, and the page is about venues of the 2012 Summer Olympics. I'd say 2012 Summer Olympic venues would be slightly wrong, as it would mean Olympic venues that were used during the summer of 2012. — Chrisahn (talk) 00:39, 14 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
