2000s not GenZ

[edit]

2010s is still mostly millenial terminology but absolutely 2000s are not slightly Gen Z. StrongALPHA (talk) 07:22, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Gooning as brain rot

[edit]

@162 etc. I've updated gooning with a new source that backs up the claim that gooning is a brain rot term. I found the source on the page for brain rot. Hopefully this is enough to convince you that gooning is a brain rot term, but if not I can try to find more sources. feedmepaperr (talk) 19:18, 29 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi, thank you for your contributions. I've reverted the edit - the Dazed article is indeed about brainrot, but specifically refers to gooning as a "masturbation technique". 162 etc. (talk) 19:23, 29 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
I believe you are incorrect about what this article is saying. While it does say that gooning and edging are masturbation techniques, it says those terms in the same quotation marks it uses for terms like "sigma male" and "rizzard of oz", indicating that these terms are what these "self-loathing incels and Fortnite tweens" who speak in brainrot terms say. It's also in a section about brainrot humor, and the quotations indicate that these are examples. I've also added another source (Martin 2024) which is even more clear that it's a brain rot term. feedmepaperr (talk) 19:49, 29 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
I've again reverted the edit, as I feel you are not parsing these sources accurately. This latest one refers to gooning as "porno slang", which is not synonymous with brain rot. The best place to continue this discussion is Talk:Gooning. 162 etc. (talk) 19:55, 29 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
