- IP address points to Switzerland. How unsurprising. Alhadis (talk) 04:55, 24 May 2024 (UTC)
What is Nimbus Sans No. 5?
[edit]There is a version called Nimbus Sans No. 5.
It doesn't seem to have italic and only has 2-3 weights covering Light, Regular, and Medium (depending on which site you check).
What exactly is this Nimbus Sans No. 5? It seems to be a bit bolder at the same x-height.
Also there was a Nimbus Sans No. 4, but it is not available these days.

- No specific information, but I believe some of these URW-descended fonts could be based on specific older phototype versions, whether authorised or knockoffs: one sub-family of Nimbus Roman is apparently based on Compugraphic's clone of Times New Roman. - I've just realised that MyFonts lists both Max Miedinger and Hell Studio as the creators of Nimbus Sans No. 5.
- I did some digging and it seems that there was a Helvetica clone called Holsatia made by Hell , which was digitalised by URW.
- I can't draw any conclusion but Nimbus Sans No. 5 might be Holsatia.
