The color is FUSCHIA, not fuchsia! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.208.55.3 (talk) 00:49, 1 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

It's FUCHSIA, after Leonhart Fuchs. Bleppi (talk) 04:37, 4 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Fashion fuchsia

[edit]

A Fuchsia_(color)#Fashion_fuchsia mentions "Fashion fuchsia" as a color. However, it provides no evidence of the existence of this name as a distinct color — it simply suggests that it is an alternative term for the color called "Hollywood cerise". The INFOBOX color template has three footnotes. One is a reference to Maerz and Paul (not online) but it suggests that the reference discusses a color called Hollywood not fashion fuchsia. the other two footnotes contain explanatory information, but neither of them provide any evidence that there is a color with this name. We either need evidence that this is a distinct color with its own color attributes or evidence that this term is used as a synonym for an existing color. If that cannot be provided, I plan to remove this entry from this article, and from List_of_colors:_A–F.--S Philbrick(Talk) 14:57, 3 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hey, User:Sphilbrick, I say go for it. If those colours are different from fuchsia, then I don't think they belong in this article.
By the way: you can sign your name on a comment by appending four of '~' (four tildes, or twiddles) to your comment; it will be replaced by a nice linkified signature with a timestamp. MrDemeanour (talk) 17:49, 3 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
MrDemeanour, ?? I did, so I don't understand your comment S Philbrick(Talk) 19:37, 3 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, you seem to have styled your sig so that it looks unlinkified! MrDemeanour (talk) 04:49, 4 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Fuchsia on Tertiary color

[edit]

Magenta vs fuchsia

In tertiary color, Fuchsia is mentioned to be a slightly more red color than magenta and it is in the quinary colors list. Its hexcode seems to be similar to magenta's having full red, no green and almost full blue (#ff00e0). Is tertiary color wrong?108.46.173.109 (talk) 01:03, 28 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

My eye is not able to see any difference. --Valerio Bozzolan (talk) 10:08, 23 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
To me the magenta there is a slightly different colour, noticeable enough though. If there were far enough away from each other I might not be able to tell a difference at first glance. Bleppi (talk) 04:27, 4 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Merge section "In RGB" and section "Web color"

[edit]

The section Fuchsia (color)#In RGB says the same information of the section Fuchsia (color)#Fuchsia (web color). Maybe they could be merged into a section "In color theory and on a computer screen" like I've seen in Red. --Valerio Bozzolan (talk) 10:06, 23 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
