Jeff Briggs' connection to Florence and to Roger Briggs
[edit]Is there any online source which confirms how Jeff and Roger Briggs are related, or confirms that they are not related? I assume that they are brothers or otherwise closely related but I'm not aware of anything to prove this. Something to confirm Jeff's date and place of birth may also be needed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RW Dutton (talk • contribs) 18:16, 22 July 2022 (UTC)

Removed.
[edit]Removed reference to Sheffield High School, which isn't in Florence. It's in Sheffield. --Nyxxxx 02:40, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
Why is there an ad in here for Shoals Christian Scool? Wikipedia is not a Sunday paper.
Fixed SCS advert--keep it factual, people. Wikipedia isn't for ads. Included reference to other christian schools in the area.

Why is there mention of "homosexual" activity between two people, named, in this article (in ref to the parks)? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.165.20.5 (talk) 16:44, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Media Section
[edit]Why all the upper case in the media section? I scrolled down to the section and its shouting. Looks terrible. --Mjrmtg (talk) 13:31, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
Enrollment claim incorrect
[edit]"The University is the largest in north Alabama[citation needed], with an enrollment topping 7,000 for the first time in 2007. " A citation is definitely needed for this claim as a quick wikipedia search shows that the University of Alabama in Huntsville has a larger enrollment than UNA and both both universities are definitely in north Alabama.

Museums edit: KD Art Center
[edit]| Part of an edit requested by an editor with a conflict of interest has been implemented. |
Kennedy-Douglass Center for the Arts consists of three historic buildings known as the Wilson Park Houses on the National Register of Historic Places in downtown Florence. These spaces are used for numerous programs, exhibits, and events. The art center showcases local, regional, and sometimes national artists. It also offers classes and workshops to people of all ages. It provides administrative offices for Florence Arts and Museums, which oversees four of Florence, Alabama's museums: The Kennedy-Douglass Center for the Arts, The Rosenbaum House, Pope's Tavern Museum, and the Florence Mound and Museum. The Art Center's hours are Monday – Friday: 9 am – 4 pm, Sunday: 1 pm - 4 pm and closed on Saturday. Admission is free.
I also think there is probably enough information for an individual page for the Kennedy-Douglass Center for the Arts if others agree.

- This entry can shortened significantly, perhaps to this: "Kennedy-Douglass Center for the Arts consists of three historic buildings known as the Wilson Park Houses on the National Register of Historic Places in downtown Florence. The art center showcases local, regional, and sometimes national artists. It also offers classes and workshops to people of all ages.[1]" Fiske (talk) 16:20, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
Partly done. In the interest of moving this along, I have gone ahead and added the text I proposed. Please open a new request if changed are needed. Fiske (talk) 17:30, 9 April 2026 (UTC)

Forks of Cypress
[edit]I don't know that Forks of Cypress can be categorized as a Museum. Is there another place it would fit under better? Historic or notable landmarks, possibly? Ggriffin11 (talk) 19:49, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
Museums: Florence Mound proposed changes, more accurate/updated information
[edit]| This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. Set |answered=no to reactivate the request if necessary. |
The Florence Mound and Museum is located along the Tennessee River. The earthwork mound is the largest in the Tennessee Valley, and was built nearly 1700 years ago during what archaeologists refer to as the Woodland Period. Originally a six-sided structure with an earthen embankment surrounding it on three sides, the earthwork represents a Native American worldview of the time it was built. Today, the mound is a four-sided structure, approximately 43 feet high, measuring 310 by 230 feet at the base, and about 145 by 95 feet on top. The Museum alongside the mound, built in 2017, displays and interprets Native American culture from northwest Alabama, telling the story of indigenous peoples of the area dating back 13,000 years.[1]
I also think an individual page for the Mound and Museum would be beneficial. Ggriffin11 (talk) 19:13, 6 February 2026 (UTC)
