The eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series (formerly PEAK Antifreeze iRacing Series and NASCAR iRacing World Championship) is an online sim racing esports competition hosted on subscription-based sim racing video game iRacing.

Since 2022, the season finale has been held at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, North Carolina.[1][2] The champion is awarded the Dale Earnhardt Jr. Trophy, inspired by the NASCAR Winston Cup championship trophy awarded from the 1970s to 2003.[3]

History

[edit]

In 2020, Coca-Cola was announced as the new title sponsor for the series, including an increase in prize pool to $300,000.[4][5]

Before a race in 2021, drivers discovered the Chevrolet Camaro was at a handling disadvantage to other cars in the field. Due to the discovery of the problem too soon to the start of the race, iRacing allowed the race to run. Following the race, iRacing announced that there was a "small difference in [aerodynamics] for the Chevrolet" and that all drivers will be awarded a drop week for the season.[6]

Drivers

[edit]

Many drivers who have raced in the series have moved up to real-world racing or simulation work for NASCAR teams. 2021 champion Keegan Leahy was signed as a performance consultant for 23XI Racing and was credited by Tyler Reddick on his 2023 win at Circuit of the Americas.[7] Two-time series champion Steven Wilson was hired as Spire Motorsports' sim driver in 2026.[8] Four-time champion Ray Alfalla raced in a limited late model race at Hickory Motor Speedway, finishing 18th after a fuel pump failure.[9]
