Mike Lock

Mike Lock is the Founder and Head of Research at Habitelligence, an independent research firm focused on understanding the adoption, usage, and measurable value of critical home system technologies. As a 25-year technology industry veteran, Mike has experience across multiple sectors, including B2B software, IT, telecom, healthcare, and home technology systems. Most recently, he served as Principal Managing Director and Head of Content and Research at Spiceworks Ziff Davis. Before its acquisition, he was Senior Vice President at Aberdeen Strategy & Research, overseeing the strategic direction of Aberdeen's research coverage -- spanning traditional and emerging topics such as analytics and data management, IT infrastructure, ERP and financial management, and artificial intelligence (AI). Mike is also a 20-year homeowner with extensive hands-on experience in unexpected system failures, questionable DIY repairs, budget decisions he now regrets, and the endless search for solutions to problems he never expected to have.
