  • Rob Lowe rushes to support his brother Chad Lowe after the tragic death of Chad's 13-year-old daughter, Fiona.

A Hollywood family is leaning on one another after an unthinkable loss.

Rob Lowe has rushed to support his younger brother, Chad Lowe, following the death of Chad's 13-year-old daughter, Fiona, according to Rob Shuter's Naughty But Nice Substack report published on Thursday, October 1.

A source told Shuter, "Rob dropped everything," adding, "Chad is his little brother, and the second he heard, Hollywood stopped mattering. There was nowhere else Rob was going to be except by Chad's side."

"Rob knows there are no words that can fix this," a second source told Naughty But Nice. "He can't take away Chad's grief. What he can do is be present, protect his brother and make absolutely certain he never has to face this alone."

Fiona died in a hospital on Tuesday, September 29, according to County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner records obtained by Page Six. The case remains open, and the family has not publicly shared a cause of death.

Chad, 58, and his wife of 16 years, producer Kim Painter, confirmed the loss on Tuesday.

"We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona. She was a loving young girl who was smart, creative and loved to dance," the family said in a statement, the outlet reported.

Page Six also confirmed that the principal at Fiona's middle school emailed families Tuesday morning about a student's death, without naming her, and offered counselors to students and staff.

The brothers' father, Charles "Chuck" Lowe, honored his granddaughter on Instagram on Wednesday, September 30, writing "Rest in peace" alongside a photo of her in a swimming pool.

Rob and Chad, who grew up together in Dayton, Ohio, worked side by side on 9-1-1: Lone Star in 2022.

Rob may be known to millions for The Outsiders, St. Elmo's Fire, The West Wing and Parks and Recreation, but his focus now is entirely on his family.

"Forget Rob Lowe the movie star," the second source told Naughty But Nice. "Right now, he's simply a big brother helping hold his family together."
