They’re calling it the best music video featuring a Newton’s cradle since “Only,” by Nine Inch Nails. Musical guests Katseye cameoed in a sketch on last night’s Saturday Night Live, spoofing their point of origin, Netflix’s Dream Academy. Season two goes a little differently than season one, because the music exec in charge of casting the show (Ashley Padilla) is being lightly blackmailed by two … unique candidates (Jane Wickline and new cast member Grace Reiter). Wickline, Reiter, and Veronika Slowikowska come up with a new song to duet (septet?) with Katseye, “Newton’s Cradle.” The only problem is that the lyrics aren’t really more comprehensible than actual Katseye jams. But do songs really have to make sense? The Billboard charts say “no.” Satire is dead, come and get it!
