On August 31, 2026, the New York Foreign Press Center partnered with the 9/11 Memorial & Museum to facilitate an advance media preview of commemorative and educational plans marking 25 years since the September 11 attacks. The engagement supported ongoing efforts to preserve and communicate the legacy of 9/11, including to a growing generation around the world born after 2001.

Foreign media representatives engaged directly with senior museum leadership, including President and CEO Beth Hillman and Senior Vice President for Education and Public Programs Noah Rauch, alongside a 9/11 family member serving on the Volunteer & Visionary Leadership Council.

Program Highlights

  • An exclusive preview of the museum’s newest exhibition, In Their Honor: 25 Years of 9/11 Inspired Service.
  • The announcement of updates to the annual commemoration ceremony, including a permanent seventh moment of silence and bell toll honoring the thousands who have died from 9/11-related illnesses.
  • An invitation for international journalists to contribute their own stories of covering 9/11 to the museum’s 25th-anniversary educational initiative.
