Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell, reprising her role from the "Captain America" films) is an unstoppable secret agent for the Strategic Scientific Reserve, dedicated to fighting new atomic threats that have emerged after World War II. After working in New York, Peggy heads across the country to Los Angeles for her most dangerous assignment yet. All the additions made to Agent Carter season 2 benefit the series, but in the end the show's success is still rooted in Hayley Atwell's central performance, which only gains more texture as she spends more time with the character. Go to Full Review Victoria Edel Observer Jan 20, 2016
These first two episodes were pretty fun. And they didn't mention Captain America once! Go to Full Review Scott Meslow New York Magazine/Vulture Jan 20, 2016

Agent Carter is just far enough removed from Marvel's grand plans that the show can afford to take risks. This dual premiere doles out some clunky exposition, but it also builds a compelling foundation for a strong season. Go to Full Review Alyssa Fikse Uproxx Jul 12, 2018
The noirish feel of old Hollywood fits the show perfectly, and between the developing mystery and deepening relationships, this season is off to a great start. Go to Full Review Merrill Barr Forbes Jul 12, 2018
It became... nothing more than a Hayley Atwell vehicle that let everything else from production value to narrative importance fall to the wayside if it meant the show's lead actress getting in just one extra spunky line of dialogue. It was fun, but maybe a two-hour premiere loaded down with so much table-setting and story setup wasn't the best way to kick things off. Go to Full Review Read all reviews

Brayden G @DeadShotVibe802 Aug 16, 2026 First season is better but I hate how season 3 got cancelled after a cliffhanger which now makes it useless See more Sabih A @RT57875922 Jul 30, 2026 Does its job Season 2 is slightly higher rated for me, but I still prefer Season 1's overall story, despite Season 2 having the stronger ending. The show stays consistently enjoyable, with Jarvis remaining a highlight, and his wife is a fun addition. The villain and overall cast are solid. I wish Howard Stark had a bigger role, and the ending wasn't what I expected from an Agent Carter series. Peggy doesn't change much, but the implied connection between her and Sousa in Endgame is a nice touch. In short: A consistently good Marvel show with likable characters, a strong ending, and an entertaining cast, even if it doesn't fully capitalize on its premise. See more Akuma J @Akio222 Jul 27, 2026 The ending is a chef's kiss! See more Sandra M @Sanmax May 21, 2026 Very captivating and interesting season. There is so much going on, yet it does not feel overwhelming. See more Eltrix U @Eltrix_Urem Apr 13, 2026 La serie seguía siendo interesante, pero por momentos parecía novela, dándole mucho enfoque al triángulo amoroso See more Lucho G @RT50110343 Aug 22, 2025 Marvel Studios should have done a third (last) season of this show with Chris Evans appearing in the last episode to repete the Endgame scene.
