A device that converts analog audio signals into equivalent air vibrations in order to make audible sound. A very old term, a loudspeaker is a "speaker" such as in a home theater. However, the term is more likely used for a public address (PA) system that amplifies a person's voice speaking into a microphone. See speaker, home theater, Bluetooth speaker and parametric speaker.
