cellular tablet
A tablet computer that has built-in cellular capability. Like a smartphone, a plan with a cellular carrier must be in place, which provides the tablet with a telephone number even if voice calls are not provided. However, applications such as WhatsApp and FaceTime offer voice and video calling over cellular service. See cellular modem.
