For the best budget deal of the month, you can't top this 47% price drop on a capable 43-inch Toshiba that comes with Amazon Alexa voice support and some nice features for gamers, like a ridiculously low input lag of only 3.1 milliseconds. We have a full review of this model, with praise for its solid picture quality, attractive design, and simple setup, but noting that contrast and brightness could use a little boosting, making it not the best pick for well-lit rooms. That said, for a TV under $160, it obliterates the competition.
Key Specs:
4K Ultra HD resolution with HDR (HDR10, HLG) support
60Hz native refresh rate
LED panel
Fire TV smart TV functionality with Alexa voice remote
3x HDMI ports, 4K@60hz
It's an expensive one, but Best Buy delivering a $500 discount should make you strongly consider the LG C6. This TV easily earned an Editors' Choice award in our review, delivering peak picture quality with boosted brightness and great color accuracy. LG is the primary panel maker for numerous brands, and this screen is a real killer, with pixel-level brightness control making it excel for every use, from nature documentaries to sports. Our light bloom testing revealed not a single bit of bleed-through, even with bright objects on pure black backgrounds. The WebOS smart TV platform is speedy and easy to use, with a capable remote. We did wish that it had a more modern Wi-Fi antenna (it's just Wi-Fi 5), but that's not a big deal.
Key Specs:
4K Ultra HD resolution with HDR (HDR10, Dolby Vision) support
120Hz native refresh rate
OLED panel
Fire TV smart TV functionality with Alexa voice remote
4x HDMI ports, 4K@60hz
Here's another great deal on a relatively large screen with decent picture quality. While Best Buy's Insignia house brand doesn't push the envelope when it comes to smart TV specs, it fits a budget niche that is more than good enough for most households, especially for areas outside of your rec room like bedrooms and kitchens. This is a decent 50-inch screen with good brightness and the built-in Fire TV platform. A 50% price drop makes it an even more attractive pick.

65-Inch to 75-Inch TV Deals
Stepping into the next size bracket, this is an excellent mid-priced screen from Hisense that delivers on every front, with MiniLED backlighting creating thousands of individual zones for crisp contrast and accurate color. We gave this model an "Excellent" rating in our review, noting that it was an excellent value at the price, with praise for the Google TV platform, well-designed remote, and far-field microphone array giving you hands-free control. Wide high dynamic range coverage includes Dolby Vision, hybrid log-gamma, and HDR10 and 10+. Plenty of HDMI ports let you link in all your consoles and streaming boxes, and it's good for gaming as well, with a speedy 6.2 millisecond response time in Game mode.
Key Specs:
4K Ultra HD resolution with HDR (Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR10, HLG) support
165Hz native refresh rate

For a larger screen, we gave an "Excellent" rating to this TCL model in our review, with TV savant Will Greenwald declaring it offered "a very good picture and loads of features while still coming in at $999.99." It was a contender at that price, so slicing 30% off makes it an absolute steal. With great color quality, deep blacks, and high dynamic range with Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10+, and hybrid log-gamma (HLG) support, movies and shows look spectacular. It's also an excellent choice for console gaming, with a 144Hz refresh rate, low input lag, and support for AMD FreeSync Premium.
Key Specs:
4K Ultra HD resolution with HDR (Dolby Vision, HDR-10) support
144Hz native refresh rate
QLED panel with mini-LED backlighting
Google TV smart TV functionality
4x HDMI ports, 2 4K@60hz and 2 4K@144Hz
Samsung delivers a really good value with this mid-priced TV, featuring a large screen with one billion true-to-life HDR10+ colors, along with a NQ4 AI Gen2 Processor for real-time upscaling of content. While it doesn't dominate when it comes to brightness, making it not as well suited for rooms with lots of windows and ambient light, it's more than assertive enough for most other environments. Intelligent adaptation modifies picture settings depending on what you're watching, and the Tizen TV interface is easy to use and brings you access to all the major streamers.

LG is the panel manufacturer behind many of the top brands, so you might as well go to the source. This is a juicy big screen with great color quality and contrast, thanks to over 8.3 million self-lit smart pixels in the OLED screen, and a 120Hz refresh rate is speedy enough for sports and fast-action gaming. Throw in Nvidia G-Sync compatibility, and you've got a great pick for your man cave. LG's webOS-powered smart TV platform is a breeze to set up and get connected, with instant access to streaming services. See how it clocks in on our list of the best big-screen TVs on the market.

Here's a big-screen Hisense at an absolutely ridiculous discount, with Best Buy cutting a whopping $800 off of the ticket price. This QLED screen is big enough to dominate most rooms, with great color coverage and contrast. We've got a review of a smaller version, where we gave it an "Excellent" rating. Expert Will Greenwald declared that the set was "an excellent TV and a great value considering its price," with strong gaming features, good picture quality, lots of ports, and solid but not class-leading brightness.

Our biggest screen of the month is a real commitment, but Best Buy offering you $1,500 off the ticket price makes it much easier to consider. The TCL QM7L is a gorgeous mini-LED display with TCL's "Super Quantum Dots," ultra-precise imaging tech that covers 100% of the BT. 2020 color spectrum, with support for every advanced HDR format available. This model also uses TCL's WHVA 2.0 panel for expanded viewing angles—necessary for a home theater. Built-in audio is also exceptional thanks to Bang & Olufsen-tuned speakers, and the Google TV platform is easy to use and offers a ton of connectivity options. It definitely belongs on our list of the best big-screen TVs at this price.

Additional reporting by Jade Chung-Lee.
Hi, I'm Will Greenwald, an ISF-certified TV calibrator, THX-certified home theater expert, and PCMag's TV reviewer. I've been testing TVs for over a decade, and I'm here to answer your most common questions about shopping for them. Read my answers below and feel free to reach out with any additional questions.
Which TV Brand Is the Best Value for the Money?
That's a loaded question, because brand alone won't tell you enough about a TV. Every brand has multiple tiers of TVs that offer different features and performance, and you really need to check the model number to know what to expect. That said, Hisense and TCL have consistently offered excellent performance for reasonable prices compared with most other brands, while LG and Samsung often have the categorically highest-end (and most expensive) flagship TVs, often with particularly sleek designs or unique aspects. To understand more about TV model numbers, I wrote a guide to major brands' numbering conventions. They change slightly from year to year, and I'll be updating it for 2025 TV models as more are released.
Do OLED and QLED TVs Get Massive Price Drops on Prime Day or Black Friday?
Any TV can get a massive price drop around those times. You'll find lots of deals on QLED panels, which have been expanding from various manufacturers' flagship LED TV lines to their midrange and even budget models. You'll generally see fewer discounts on OLED TVs, but that's because they're still fairly rare.
What Is a Good Month to Buy a TV?
Any month when Amazon Prime Day is happening (usually in July and October), or November for Black Friday. January is also a prime time to buy a new TV, as most retailers will have discounts and promotions leading up to the Super Bowl. If you don't mind buying a TV from the previous year, the entire first quarter is a good time as well, since that's when the fanciest TVs from the year before will usually see their prices cut to make room for the newest models coming out in late spring and summer.
Which Retailers Offer the Best Discounts? What Are the Best TV Sales Happening Now?
I focus on testing and reviewing the TVs themselves to provide an informed and unbiased opinion about their quality and value, so I can't really offer any specifics about retailer deals other than broad strokes about timing. PCMag's deals team covers that side of the shopping experience, and updates this story monthly to surface the best available sales.
Can I Get Bundle Deals With Soundbars or Streaming Devices?
I've seen some manufacturers offer TVs bundled with a soundbar for a short period at launch or during promotions. Keep an eye on this story and our deals hub, and you'll occasionally find a bundle featured. Remember that soundbars come in a range of price tiers just like TVs, and some simply offer extra stereo sound with a bass boost from a subwoofer, while others provide a full spatial audio experience.
How Do You Test TVs?
I test TVs using professional calibration equipment to measure the light and color that comes from the panel under different conditions, and note peak brightness, black level, contrast (peak brightness divided by black level), light bloom (any halo or haze along high-contrast edges), color accuracy, color range, and input lag. I check using the most color-accurate picture mode out of the box, which is usually the Cinema or Movie mode. You should use this mode yourself when watching movies or TV shows, because the default Standard or Vivid modes usually always skew the picture to look bluer than it should to make it seem brighter.
What Is the Best Budget Smart TV for Picture Quality
Currently, the Hisense U6N is the best picture for the price and our Editors' Choice budget TV. It has strong contrast and accurate color, and you can often find it for around $500 for 65 inches. If you're a gamer, though, the TCL QM6K is a better, but more expensive, choice thanks to its 144Hz refresh rate (the U6N is 60Hz) and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro.
