Ajinomoto Fine-Techno

Japan-based Ajinomoto Fine-Techno (AFT), a subsidiary of Ajinomoto, develops and produces electronic materials, functional materials and activated carbon.

For the OLED industry, Ajinomoto developed a film-type encapsulation solution.

Cambridge Isotope Laboratories

US-based Cambridge Isotope Laboratories, Inc. (CIL) is a leading producer of deuterium and other stable isotopes and stable isotope-labeled compounds. CIL specializes in the process of labeling biochemical and organic compounds with highly enriched, stable (nonradioactive) isotopes of carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen and oxygen.

For the OLED industry, Cambridge Isotope Laboratories, Inc. (CIL) is a reliable and trusted partner supplying deuterated solvents, intermediates and high purity deuterium and carbon monoxide gases. CIL has the largest nongovernmental deuterium oxide (D2O) re-enrichment columns in the world.

3M

The 3M Company, based in the US, operates in the fields of industry, worker safety, U.S. health care, and consumer goods. The company produces a wide range of products (over 60,000, in fact) including adhesives, abrasives, laminates, passive fire protection, protection films, dental and orthodontic products, electrical and electronic connecting and insulating materials, and optical films.

3M's Display Materials and solutions Division (DMSD) is offering several products for the OLED industry - transparent adhesives (OCAs), micro/nanoreplication technologies, printable optical materials, and multilayered optical films.

 

Arubedo

Arubedo is a Swedish company, founded in 2012, that works with organic electronics, including in-house projects and contract research assignments for industrial and academic customers.

The company delivers building-blocks for OLED materials to several of the leading producers in the world. Arubedo delivers new materials in milligram to kilogram quantities.

Avantama

Switzerland-based Avantama AG (previously known as Nanograde) is specialized in the development and supply of printable and coatable materials for the manufacturing of optical or electronic thin films. Avantama's materials are based on liquid formulations and inks containing semiconducting metal oxides or luminescent perovskite quantum dots.

For the OLED industry, Avantama offers a portfolio of almost 30 different products for solution processed OLED devices. Avantama inks are hole injection/electron blocking and electron injection/hole blocking materials.

 

BASF New Business

BASF New Business GmbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of BASF AG, focused on development of new materials, technologies, and system approaches within the business areas of Energy Management, Quality of Life and Organic Electronics.

BASF has been developing OLED technologies for over 15 years, and demonstrated a module that includes transparent OLED and OPV panels in collaboration with Philips. BASF also collaborated with OSRAM on efficient white light OLEDs.

 

In 2016, BASF sold its entire OLED IP portfolio to Universal Display for $96 million.

Baynoe Chem

China-based Baynoe Chem specializes on R&D and production of OLED intermediates, fine chemical intermediates and bio-medical chemicals. The company has an R&D center in Suzhou, a production base in Baiyin and a sales office in Shanghai.

Baynoe's main focus is on OLED intermediates and new materials. The company says it is supplying materials to a wide range of OLED developers, including Samsung, LG Chem, Duksan and Doosan.

 

beeOLED

Germany-based beeOLED was established in 2020 with an aim to develop deep-blue OLED emitters. The company's material technology is based on intra-metallic emission, that has been used in other display technologies in the past but have not been usable in OLED displays yet.

In August 2023, beeOLED announce a $14.4 million financing round co-led by eCAPITAL and Innovation Industries. In early 2026, beeOLED has been awarded a 2.5 million Euro project by the EiC to support its work on blue OLED emitters.

BenQ Materials

Taiwan-based BenQ Materials specializes in material science and is the world's 4th largest polarizer maker. The company is active with several markets, including medical care, batteries and consumer electronics.

For the OLED industry, BenQ Materials offers a bendable circular polarizer and is developing polarizers for foldable devices. The company is also developing micro-patterned films for color shift improvements in OLED displays.

 

BLD Pharmatech

Established in 2014 and headquartered in Shanghai, China, BLD Pharmatech Ltd. offers an extensive selection of diversified research chemicals, scale-up manufacturing and custom services.

For the OLED industry, BLD Pharmatech offers TADF OLED materials, and other OLED stack materials.
