On Oct. 1, the district announced on its website that Core Creek Elementary School and Maple Point Middle School would close after a threat was made against Maple Point Middle School.

Officials said the decision to close the schools was made "out of an abundance of caution" as the Middletown Township Police Department continues to "address" the reported threat.
The district said students and staff at both schools will engage in asynchronous instruction.
No other Neshaminy schools were affected and opened as usual, officials said.
Officials did not disclose the nature of the threat.
