With a compact camera and a couple rolls of black-and-white film, NBC News producer Marc Smith captured a series of striking images of the funerary events for Iran’s supreme leader.

TEHRAN, Iran — As Iran geared up for the state funeral of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei a couple of weeks ago, NBC News producer Marc Smith arrived in the country’s capital armed with a vintage camera that predates the Islamic Revolution.
