Honourable Judiciary Bodies of India
The Judiciary of India is an independent organ of the State responsible for interpreting and upholding the Constitution, administering justice, and protecting the rights and liberties of citizens. It comprises courts at different levels, with the Supreme Court of India at the apex, followed by High Courts and subordinate courts across the country.
The Indian judiciary plays an important role in upholding the rule of law, ensuring access to justice, resolving disputes and interpreting constitutional and statutory provisions. The courts exercise their judicial functions independently and contribute to maintaining the balance among different organs of governance while safeguarding constitutional values and fundamental rights.
These institutions perform functions relating to constitutional interpretation, civil and criminal justice, dispute resolution and enforcement of legal rights, contributing to the effective administration of justice and strengthening the rule of law.
