Order of the Sinking Star is a demanding and inventive puzzle adventure that constantly finds new ways to challenge your understanding of its rules. Its four distinct worlds, character-driven limitations, and increasingly intertwined mechanics make solving puzzles deeply satisfying, even if prolonged roadblocks can sometimes become exhausting.

An amazing experience. Only 60% and loving every thing about this. You get stuck. You get frustrated. You move to another area. Realize what you were missing and crack it. Such a wonderful time and great solo or with friends/family. Trumps all other puzzle games give played except the Witness, another stone cold classic.

An inspiration. Achieves exactly what it set out to accomplish. A fantastic demonstration of a new systems programming language. Beautiful visual art, animation, sound design, and music. Phenomenal graphics and systems programming. Wonderful voice acting, direction, and casting. Both the puzzles and the writing made me laugh and gave me pause. A work of art, rampant with ideas, not unlike a Pynchon novel. It runs smoothly on my PlayStation 5 Professional. The true successor to Stephen's Sausage Roll.

There’s no doubt that Order of the Sinking Star is one of the best puzzle games out there. The continual evolution of mechanics sprawling across a puzzle-ridden overworld is vast and exciting, and it’s so cool to see it all come from the same core concept. I like that it tells different stories within this, which leads to the bigger mystery of where we are to begin with. Sometimes it can feel a little overwhelming with every new mechanic introduced and then asked to apply, but it can also create some interesting scenarios that are enjoyable to play through.

Order of the Sinking Star is a great puzzle game created by one of the most celebrated creators working in the genre. It delivers four core worlds, each with a unique cast and a defining mechanic, and challenges players to find solutions while unlocking new challenges that will blend different gameplay elements. The lack of a clear hint system will lead to frustration for some, especially once the harder puzzles that mix mechanics arrive. The narrative isn’t central to the experience, and characters aren’t that interesting. Order of the Sinking Star’s puzzles are great, but their shared Sokoban elements lead to a relative lack of variety in the long run.

I want to turn the mirrors back onto the positives of Order of the Sinking Star, because it is such a marvel. I am yet to play anything like it. It’s so laden with riches that it’s embarrassing, as the saying goes.

Order of the Sinking Star is the most unique puzzle game I’ve ever encountered. Seemingly endless innovation and evolution of mechanics are just some of the key aspects of this game. While it doesn’t always hit the mark in terms of story delivery or length, it maintains its unusual gameplay throughout the many hours of gameplay. If you’re a fan of puzzles, then there’s never been a game more made for you.

An interesting concept gives way to a bloat that squanders the potential pulled from the games on which Order of the Sinking Star is based (and that it recreates). The result is puzzles curiously devoid of fun or reward and a slog of epic proportions.

A consummate grid-based pushing, pulling, teleporting, beaming, reflecting, skipping, falling, jumping, rotating, dancing experience. And many more verbs. Yes, it is a massive game, and challenging, but each puzzle is a distilled message. I have enjoyed every puzzle so far, even the ones that stump me, because I know there is some idea I'm missing. I feel like I'm gathering pieces of knowledge that will enable me to best the hardest challenges. Each puzzle is also beautifully designed, artfully and uniquely presented with a soundtrack that lets your mind untangle the problem. The music and sound design is actually fantastic. I appreciate such a massive human achievement in a time where human ingenuity and the craft of building and learning things is heavily questioned. I am not finished with the game, but I intend on continuing and unraveling it's mysteries for the weeks and months to come.

very good up to when puzzle get to big then its just irritating and tedious. Character movement is to sensitive, you drag or push thing accidentality in wrong direction, Upper world gives you headache. The voices are of the academy smart alley kind. The humour is nerdy written by that guy in school who you cant remember the name of.
