Coming back to one of the genre’s formative games through a modern lens was an absolute joy for this long-time fan. This will absolutely be entering my collection of “lazy games”, just good comfort food kinda games for when I just want to relax and hit some buttons while reliving old memories. I would love to see more of the older Dynasty Warriors games given this treatment, because this is great.

Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered brings a PS2 legend to modern hardware with a complete technical overhaul, rock-solid frame rates, and its iconic cheesy voice acting left completely intact. While old-school map pacing and brutal archers show the game's age, optional modern dodge controls and deep co-op gameplay make it an absolute blast for nostalgia seekers.

Great game and an awesome trip down memory lane! Dynasty Warriors 3 was a huge part of my childhood, and this remaster does a great job of bringing that experience back without trying to change what made the original so much fun. I’m glad they focused on staying true to the original rather than adding a bunch of unnecessary modes or completely reworking the formula. Hopefully this does well enough that we get more Dynasty Warriors remasters in the future. I’m 100% here for it!

Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered is old yet new—a trip down memory lane that’s pure nostalgia from the moment the game starts. It’s a title that never tries to be anything other than what it is, staying true to the essence that made the musou genre popular worldwide.

Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered brings back a true classic in a shiny Unreal Engine 5 coat, delivering an entertaining action game packed with content and a successful visual overhaul. However, it is very much a case of quantity over quality, as the repetitive levels, nonsensical story and lack of depth become increasingly hard to ignore, especially if you don't have nostalgia on your side. As a remaster of a 2001 classic it certainly succeeds, but don't expect any kind of revolution.

Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered achieves its goal of breathing new life into a classic Dynasty Warriors experience, but with no changes to the gameplay, it soon begins to feel too basic and repetitive.

Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered is the first remaster of the Dynasty Warriors series from Koei Tecmo and Omega Force, and hopefully not the last. While musou games aren’t a groundbreaking genre in 2026, it’s fun to just hack and slash at cannon fodder as you try your best to complete the objective (usually to win). Though, it’s disappointing to see not many updates regarding accessibility features. Regardless, while the formula isn’t new, it’s great for those nostalgic fans and newcomers to the series.

Dynasty Warriors 3 Complete Edition Remastered offers devoted fans a wealth of nostalgic content, but its updated visuals cannot disguise awkward combat, frustrating camera angles and dated design that later entries have long since improved upon.

When they announced Dynasty Warriors 3 Remastered, I was not sure if it was a remake or a remaster. We already knew from the trailers that they kept the same voices, cutscenes, and even the mispronounced names. But actually playing it made it completely clear that it is a pure remaster and not a remake, because everything else is exactly like the PS2 classic. They just gave it beautiful modern visuals. It perfectly captures that classic **** gameplay is way more fluid. Combos are fast, the new evasion mechanic is a lifesaver, and bows are actually useful now to stun enemies or snipe when your health is low. The classic difficulty is still brutal and the peons are aggressive. It is not one overpowered guy against a thousand weaklings, you have to fight for survival. Crowd control is mandatory and the morale system actually matters. You have to kill minor officers to boost your army. The Musou Guard system that lets you use main roster characters as bodyguards is also a great addition.Completing specific stage conditions to unlock items makes map exploration really engaging. There are plenty of great items to collect, and the fire arrows were easily my personal favorite. Another huge positive is that the roster is not fully unlocked right from the start. You actually have to trigger specific battlefield parameters to reveal and unlock the secret characters one by one. That sense of progression makes the game feel much more rewarding and pushes you to try out every single character just to see how they look revamped in Unreal Engine 5. The endgame grind is also awesome with Chaos mode, which is genuinely tough, but completely worth it if you want to hunt down the fifth weapons, the unique ultimate gear for each **** revamped maps look great, especially the snow and rain effects. I loved being able to explore more, like getting up on the castle walls. The original soundtrack is still flawless. The story has not changed, it is short, hypothetical, and definitely not the place to learn Three Kingdoms history. It keeps that goofy tone veterans love, though newcomers might be confused.Missions are repetitive, but that is just the DNA of the original game. It is completely different from DW Origins in combat and design, but honestly I had more fun with this.Still, it feels a bit like a prototype for future remasters. The biggest flaw is recycling generic NPCs from DW9 instead of keeping their classic designs. It does not ruin the game, but it is a missed opportunity.Versus mode is fun, but it really needs an offline bot option for those who just want to test things out. Still, the upcoming online mode update will be huge and should boost sales. There is something that bothered me a bit, which is the loading screens. When you are about to enter the map and start a battle, there are at least two loading screens and sometimes it takes a while. I am not sure if this happens because of the device I am playing on, the Steam Deck, or if the console versions also have this problem. It is an annoying thing that wastes some of your time, but it does not really ruin the overall experience. Speaking of the Steam Deck, in terms of performance, it runs at a solid 30 FPS on medium and high settings, only dropping slightly when the screen is absolutely packed.I hope this sells incredibly well. I want them to take notes and give us Samurai Warriors 2, Dynasty Warriors 5, and Warriors Orochi Z next!

A fantastic remaster of a classic! Dynasty Warriors 3 still feels incredibly fun on PS5, and seeing this game return with improved visuals and modern enhancements is a dream come true for longtime fans. The gameplay, battles, characters, and soundtrack still hold up beautifully. I’ve been waiting years to play this again, and it was absolutely worth the wait.️️

As someone whos 0n1y played 5(1 of my most favourite ps2 games),6,8,9.This was not good at All.Archers at the back was really annoying,Officer Combos/Musou feels simpler/shorter range/worst than every other Dw and there are "A LOT Fewer" total enemies when they cramped together.Because of that, using combos/musou attacks feels less enjoyable than DW5,8.Personally i think they shouldve stop these kind of remastered.@s l0ng @s they dont have DW8XL "Rage Ex Musou attacks",even with UE5 engine, whatever title they remastered next will never be as good/enjoyable as DW8XL.
