Dragon’s Dogma II: Dark Arisen does what the original expansion had accomplished and set the bar with 20 hours more. With both Dark Arisen’s original premise and the Lost Rites challenges, there is more things to do, fight, and see, within the world even before deciding to end it at the finishing fight. While some things do remain the same from its 2024 base, the effort and vastness make up for it doesn’t demand a slow crawl, but a satisfying slow pain-and-gain run. For those who could tear themselves away from Crimson Desert, this Action RPG might be for you.

10 / 10 — Pure bliss even after 450 hours! Huge props to the developers!
Honestly, I thought that after 450 hours in Dragon’s Dogma 2, nothing could surprise me anymore. But the Dark Arisen content made me fall in love with this game all over again, with a whole new level of excitement! Capcom didn't just build an RPG; they gave us a living, unpredictable adventure that captures the true spirit of **** atmosphere here is incredibly thick and immersive. Nothing beats those night runs into the lands of Norgan, when Death itself emerges from the ominous red rifts amidst the purple mist. The adrenaline rush in that moment is unreal! And the pure satisfaction when your loyal pawn finally locks in those secret ??? badges after brutal fights with Satanachia and the Reaper? It's absolutely priceless. Your companion becomes a true legend!Thank you to the developers for not being afraid to make a challenging, smart, and deep game that treats players with respect instead of holding their hands. You have delivered a masterpiece that keeps pulling me back. I love this game with all my heart!

This expansion blew away my expectations. Its dark, the combat is even better and the story and characters are localized into a tighter focus which makes it more powerful. Its so insanely addictive. The devs absolutely nailed this. If youre on the fence, dont be. There is a metric ton of content and its absurdly good and dense content.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen might not be the ultimate expansion, but it is a substantial one. The new content is excellent and there’s even more for mid-level and post-game players to enjoy. New players get the benefit of recent updates, but they’ll need to have a couple dozen levels of time invested to survive any of the new stuff. Of course, getting there will be a pleasure. Dragon’s Dogma 2 Dark Arisen is a must-have expansion for current players already enjoying one of the best ARPGs on the market.

Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen was the final piece needed to bring this sequel to its peak; however, I believe the quality of the narrative and side quests could have been handled better. On the other hand, the expansion delivers a beautiful, challenging new realm, offering an exploration experience that truly captivates thanks to its distinct atmosphere.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen’s avalanche of new content is a icy salve for the burns left by a modern world full of incremental live-service updates. Trudging through the oppressive snowdrifts of this charming new region for dozens of hours felt like uncovering a past where games dropped meaty, activity-filled expansions all the time – fitting for a game so spiritually linked to a version of itself from 14 years ago. It's not all divine, as the campaign spends far too much of its final moments driving on repetitive tasks and its new Spoils slot machine makes the endgame gear hunt more lifeless than the frozen wastes you scrounge them from. But the journey, full of new and interesting characters, vibrant and violent enemies, and the wonderful wreckage of a bygone civilization, is an engrossing adventure worth the investment.

I wanted to like Dragon's Dogma 2 more than I did, but I can't say the same about Dark Arisen's new content. I just have a twinge of disappointment. What started as an exciting return to an underappreciated series sadly turned into a bit of a slog, with fight after fight starting to feel like little more than button mashing.

Absolute gorgeous DLC with new story, plenty of new quests, sympathetic new NPCs and a transmog system. Capcom clearly took inspiration from Skyrim and designed their own northern region with lots of places to explore and enemies to fight. What's best, Norgan can still be visited even when the rest of the world has entered "unmoored" status, so it's a safe haven and place for adventure even when the main game is fizzling out. Endgame content in Norgan is leagues better than what the unmoored world in the original could ever offer, but it's still not very long unfortunately. I could gather all the gear I wanted in about 15h of pure endgame loop. That being said, the addition of the long-awaited hard mode adds yet another dimension to the game, that makes an NG+ playthrough much more worthwhile than before. An absolute no-brainer for fans of DD2 and RPG-fans alike, with pretty much the best character creator in existence.

La versión definitiva de Dragóns Dogma 2 viene con Dark Arisen, hace mejor en todo al juego original y le da una nueva aventura desafiante y muy adictiva, básicamente esto es Dragóns Dogma en todo el sentido de la palabra.

Tbh this dlc exceeded my expectations, the story is more interesting than base game, exploration and world design is top notch.
Exploration is very rewarding.
Map verticallity is impeccable and fun to explore.
