Claude Haiku 5.5 is the fastest, lowest-cost model in the Claude 5.5 family, built for the short, repetitive jobs around your main agent. That includes the subtasks a larger model hands off, first-pass document reads, summaries and classification, live support chat, and routine computer use.

Claude Haiku 5.5 is available today. It’s our fastest model to date, and per token it costs 90% less than Haiku 4.5 on tasks under 100,000 tokens, which make up around 90% of requests to our previous Haiku model.

Introducing Claude Haiku 5.5: the cheapest, fastest, and most capable small model we’ve ever released. On average, it costs around 75% less to run than Claude Haiku 4.5. Haiku 5.5 is designed for high-volume, cost-sensitive tasks. It reliably handles quick, repetitive work like summaries and classification, and pairs well with Claude Opus 5.5 and Sonnet 5.5 as a sub-agent on coding work. It’s also fast enough for live customer support and browser use. It’s a significant step up over Haiku 4.5 across coding, computer use, and knowledge work. It’s also our first Haiku model with an adjustable effort setting, so you can decide whether to optimize for cost or intelligence on each task. Per token, it costs 90% less than Haiku 4.5 on tasks under 100,000 tokens, which make up around 90% of requests to our previous Haiku model. On longer tasks, it’s half the price. Haiku 5.5 is available now on all platforms, including Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. Claude now works inside Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides. And your Docs, Sheets, and Slides open inside Claude. In Google Workspace, the add-on puts Claude in a sidebar next to your file. It reads what you have open and edits it in place: • Sheets: formulas, pivot tables, and native charts • Docs: in-place edits, with bigger rewrites as suggestions you apply or dismiss • Slides: new slides built from your deck’s layouts and theme One install covers all three, and you can approve each edit before it lands. In Claude, the new Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides connectors also work the other way: paste a file link or ask for a new doc, sheet, or deck, and it opens beside the conversation for you and Claude to edit together. Claude Corps Cohort 3 applications are now open. Claude Corps is for people at the start of their careers: finishing school or a trade program, leaving military service, or in a first job and wanting mission-driven work. No degree or coding background required, and if you’re not sure you fit, our advice is to apply anyway. You’ll spend a year inside a nonprofit in the US, building tools with Claude and teaching colleagues to keep using them after you leave. Claude for Intune is now on the App Store: a managed version of Claude for iOS for organizations that use Microsoft Intune. IT teams can apply Intune app-protection policies to Claude on employee-owned iPhones and iPads, not just company-issued ones. The Intune app runs alongside the standard Claude app, so admins can direct people to it wherever Intune protection is required. Sign-in is through Microsoft only, and the app supports Microsoft Entra Conditional Access. It’s available on Claude Enterprise. To turn it on, contact your account team or Claude support.
