(I was on vacation when this published so my thoughts are delayed) I had a lovely conversation with Samar where he broke down how Temporal is using AI throughout the org, how much it's costing, and what the output looks like. It was a frank conversation, and I'm grateful he was so open. I'm looking to do more of these. Hit me up if you're a CEO (or represent a CEO) that are rapidly deploying AI and want to talk about the upsides and downsides of the journey.
Most of the measurement happening right now around AI is measuring velocity, because velocity is the thing that is easy to count. I'd argue that on its own, velocity tells you almost nothing about whether any of the work mattered. "It's not about shipping features faster. It's about shipping value customers care about." That is what I told Matt Burns at The New Stack when we sat down to talk about how we are using AI at Temporal, and it is the bar we build to. If this resonates with you, come build with us.
