AI CEOs are in awe that their models can, given few constraints, hack autonomously. They're also wracked with a vague fear that their products will soon hack the entire internet. So I reported on how it's curious that they seem disinterested in roping in the established cybersecurity issue on this. https://lnkd.in/gSwZ8dVR

Cybersecurity should be a far higher priority for every company, now. AI agents are now giving both users and threat actors capabilities that would have seemed almost superhuman some months ago.

It's obvious that ethical standards (or even legal regulation) were not written into the code, and quite possibly were incentivized around it them (trained to cheat). What else is a third party's employee (AI agent) doing to your business and it's reputation?
There is no indication these AI agents had their own wants and desires, says cybersecurity expert Alex Stamos. https://lnkd.in/gU7isy9b

Before creating Unqork I spent years as global F50 CIO protecting the surface area of the companies against every attack. I can’t imagine hiring teams of developers and giving them access to write code in production on the fly while shutting down controls like sql injection and EVAL functions. But that is what everyone bringing any of these code based agents into their company are doing today.

AI agents have access. But what happens when that access gets into the wrong hands? 👀 This Cybersecurity Awareness Month, we’re talking about what can actually go wrong, from overprivileged agents and exposed credentials to new attack paths, and what security teams can do to close the gaps without slowing down AI. 🎃 Join Ravindra Annam and Christopher H. to learn where agent access creates risk and how to keep trusted access from becoming an open door → https://bit.ly/3Tzj5xL #CybersecurityAwarenessMonth #AISecurity #AgenticAI

Thank you, BigID! Looking forward to this conversation with Christopher H.. As AI agents gain greater autonomy and access to enterprise systems, identity and access are only part of the challenge. We also need to understand what authority an agent actually exercises at runtime, how credentials and permissions propagate across tools and workflows, and how we prevent trusted access from becoming an unintended attack path. Excited to dig into these real-world agentic AI security challenges on October 29. See you there! https://lnkd.in/gFBdQmEG #AISecurity #AgenticAI #Cybersecurity #IdentitySecurity #AI

Agentic AI could change both sides of the cybersecurity battlefield. In the latest episode of CYBERCRIME: From the Frontline, Bitdefender experts unpack what happens when AI can reason, use tools, write code, and execute complex tasks, and what security teams can do to prepare. 🔊 Listen to “When AI Agents Become Attackers” 🔗 https://lnkd.in/ejHqfKB3.
