“When you see a Tremor, it’s very recognizable,” says color and material design chief Ronni Lima Celoto. The Ford Design team does more than provide a signature look, though -- they also use color and texture to enhance functionality. What inspired the 2026 Explorer Tremor SUV’s distinctive palette? Learn that and more in this video from Ford University. #WeAreFord #FordUniversity #ExplorerTremor #FordDesign #FordCareers Interested in a design job at Ford? We're hiring: http://spr.ly/6187BGcscD
The line worth pulling on here is Ronni Lima Celoto's — that the team uses colour and texture to enhance functionality, not just to give Tremor a signature look. That's a harder claim than it sounds, because on most off-road trims the accent colour is doing the opposite: it signals capability rather than serving it. Orange on a bumper corner that nothing attaches to is a graphic, however good it looks. So the next step we'd draw is to make the claim checkable. Let the accent appear ONLY where there's a job — recovery eyes, tie-down loops, the jacking pad, the grab handle — and nowhere else. Then the palette stops being decoration and becomes a map: count the orange and every piece of it is somewhere a hand, a strap or a jack actually goes. Same logic on texture, with the coarse moulded finish stopping exactly where the scrapeable zone stops. The cost is real. A colour that only marks function can't also carry showroom differentiation, and every attachment point you add or delete late becomes a CMF decision rather than an engineering one. Which is why it's a concept-phase call — the map only works if the hardware and the palette are settled together. That window is most of what we think about at Depix.
🚀✨Color. Material. Design. A distinctive palette that creates more than a bold appearance; it delivers a powerful visual identity. Every detail comes together to make the Ford Tremor SUV's truly unique, inspiring, and unforgettable. 🚙🔥

Parabéns pelo projeto e pela carreira profissional incrível que você conquistou! Sucesso sempre! Um abraço...
Great design goes beyond appearance. It makes function feel intuitive.
This is the kind of design detail people often overlook. The right colour, texture and material choices can change how an entire vehicle is perceived.
