When the path of innovation and product strategy cross, entire industries can change. Before the original iPhone was launched, Steve Jobs identified that plastic screens were too easily scratched. He called Corning to solve the challenge of large volume production and scratch resistance. Within just a short period of time Corning was able to provide a solutions, Gorilla Glass which became a widely produced product — it is durable, clear and suitable for use in millions of devices. Corning brought the innovation and apple brought the product a win win. What product leadership enables is the ability to identify the actual need of customers and take innovation to the market in a way that creates value for the business, its partners, and the customers. Hats off the Corning team and the innovation they create.

A three-year-old can ask hundreds of questions in a day. As adults, we still ask plenty of questions: What’s the deadline? What’s next? Who owns this? But genuinely curious questions, the ones that help us explore, challenge assumptions, and see something differently, become much rarer. I spoke about this recently at The Market Research Event and the FEI Innovation Summit, because I think it matters even more in the age of AI. When answers are increasingly abundant, our advantage may lie in the quality of the questions we’re able to ask. And like any capability, curiosity needs practice. What’s one thing you do to keep yourself curious?
In this recent webinar, “When Answers are Everywhere, the Question Becomes the Job,” brought to you by FEI: Innovation Summit and The Market Research Event, innovation strategist Prapti Jha explores how human capacity for creativity and decision-making can be expanded through effective questioning in an era of artificial intelligence. 🔗 Are we losing our edge by stopping our curious questioning? Discover how moving away from genuine curiosity might be costing us our creativity and growth. http://spr.ly/6043BGH4jx
