And so another chapter closes as I leave my role in ADNOC and the UAE behind. It has been a roller coaster ride marketing Ruwais LNG, but so much fun. Over the course of the last three years, we have executed 10 HOAs and 10 SPAs with first class international LNG buyers including ENN, SEFE, EnBW, IOCL, Petronas, Osaka Gas, INPEX, Mitsui, Shell and of course ADNOC Trading. Thank you to all who took part in the negotiations on behalf of the Buyers for putting your trust in ADNOC and my team. 8.8 MTPA of LNG sold from a plant with a nameplate capacity of 9.6 MTPA - all oil indexed and with great flexibility for both buyer and seller. But you cannot do this alone and I’d like to thank ADNOC Gas management for giving me the trust and support to complete this important task. But more importantly my team and in particular Daisuke Mori (now Mitsui), Thibault Christel ( formerly Total), Lennart Luten, Faleh al Quabaisi, Farah Mutawa, Vasu Goyal, Adel Yousef, Samah Ali Amer and John King. You all became like family. Thanks also to Allen&Overy (Perth), and Mayer Brown for the fabulous legal support. The plant construction is now well underway and despite the difficult times in the region, it will deliver LNG into a demanding Global LNG market in the future. Finally thanks to Rashid Mazrouei for giving me this wonderful chance.
We are very sorry to see you go, Andy. It has been a great privilege and pleasure to have worked with you for the last few years. Your impact on the Ruwais project has been enormous; you leave a lasting legacy of robust contracts with first-tier buyers. I have learned so much from you. For this, I am so very grateful. I will miss you. All the very best wishes for your retirement. John
Many thanks for everything Andy, your impact on this team and campaign is woven into every success we achieved 🙏🏼
Congratulations, Andy, that's a remarkable body of work to close a chapter on. Selling 8.8 of 9.6 MTPA to that calibre of buyer, across ten SPAs, in three years, is a genuinely rare commercial outcome in this market. Wishing you well for whatever comes next.
What a chapter to look back on. It sounds like the numbers tell only part of the story — the people and relationships built along the way seem to be what made it really special. Wishing you all the best for the next chapter, Andy.
All the best for the for the new chapter. Looking forward to seeing you in Milan again.
Well played Andy, a truly impressive marketing effort by you and your team, and a fine portfolio of SPAs. It was fun to support. Now make the most of that beach time before heading back to the UK.
Great working together on the tail end of the ADNOC Trading / Ruwais transaction Andy Williamson, wish we had gotten a chance to do more. Enjoy some well earned relax time
Congratulations Andy Williamson and all the best with whatever you put your mind to next. For now, enjoy the break!!
Andy, it was a pleasure working with you and the wider ADNOC team. Despite all the challenges faced along the way, largely thanks to your wise commercial leadership and unwavering commitment to close the deal, we were able to do it. Look forward to seeing the first cargoes start flowing from Ruwais LNG in due time. Every good wish for you on whatever you plan to do next and I hope our paths will cross again.
