About us

Stirling is the private PDF editor. In the past year, our PDF editor served millions of users in 180 countries, 53K companies, and 72% of the Fortune 500. People choose Stirling over alternatives like Adobe Acrobat because our editor protects files from uninvited people, companies, and AI. To give customers peace of mind, we offer open-source deployments from GitHub where anyone can inspect our code. We're backed by GitLab founder Sid Sijbrandij, WePay Founder Rich Aberman, and Open Core Ventures.

Stirling 𝐏𝐃𝐅 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐨𝐩𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐉𝐚𝐯𝐚 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐆𝐢𝐭𝐇𝐮𝐛! Reaching #1 most-starred java app of all time, beating the likes of Spring Boot and Elasticsearch. I still can't quite believe it. What started as a fun side hobby grew into a vast community. That community grew into a company. And that company has built something genuinely amazing: 30M+ downloads, used by 75% of the Fortune 500, and rivalling and beating the big names in PDF software. Thank you to every contributor and everyone on the team who made this happen! So proud of what we have accomplished
