Stereolabs, an Ouster company, and AVerMedia Technologies Inc. today announced NVIDIA JetPack 7.2 support across all Stereolabs ZED X GMSL cameras and AVerMedia's NVIDIA Jetson carrier boards, including Jetson Orin and Jetson Thor. The collaboration pairs AVerMedia's carrier-board and BSP engineering with Stereolabs' unified ZED X driver architecture, so hardware and software releases can move in parallel and give robotics and edge AI developers a faster path from development to production. "By anchoring the platform-specific integration work with AVerMedia, where we're doubling down on both companies' hardware expertise, both teams can develop in parallel and respond to customer requirements more quickly." - Ihsane Youcef Debbache, VP of Engineering, Stereolabs Read the full announcement: https://lnkd.in/g_n5Rdbj

Several months ago we started asking: why does every robotics team have to rebuild the same pipeline from scratch? Skild AI's new post on their S1 model breaks down something we think about constantly: every robotics data source trades off between how close it is to your actual hardware, how diverse it is, and how well it scales. Teleoperation gets you closest to the robot but scales worst. Egocentric video scales best but has the largest gap from what your robot actually experiences. Nothing wins on all three. That's exactly why we built for the end of that trade-off that matters most for real deployment. Glide, mounted on Cockpit, handles teleoperation, so you're collecting data directly on your actual hardware through our WidowX arms. Closest to the robot, on the robot, every time. This is the same thinking behind our full 2026 lineup: WidowX arms, Glide, Cockpit, Workbench, and Rivet, all built around getting you real, hardware-grounded data instead of forcing you to choose between quality and scale. See the full lineup and where to start 👇 https://lnkd.in/dg5QrnKp Worth a read if you're thinking about how to build your own data engine: link in comments. #hardware #teleop #robotics #data #datacollection

Ouster is partnering with Seneca to integrate the Rev8 OS1 Max native color digital lidar into Seneca's autonomous drone platform for wildfire response. Smoke, dust, shifting terrain, and low visibility make wildfire operations some of the hardest conditions an autonomous aircraft can fly in. With the OS1 Max, Seneca's drones build a precise 3D picture of their surroundings for navigation and obstacle avoidance across all three of its missions: hauling cargo to the fire line, following terrain for mapping and vegetation management, and inspecting structures and utility infrastructure. Longer range gives the aircraft more time to react, and 256 channels at up to 4K horizontal resolution hold that detail as speed climbs. Ouster's NDAA §164 compliant platform, along with the BABA-compliant sensors Ouster offers, supports Seneca's commitment to aircraft designed and assembled in America. "Its IP68/IP69K rating, shock tolerance, and broad temperature range mean we can fly in conditions that would ground other platforms, meaning we can support firefighters, utilities, and communities on missions that were previously unsafe, inefficient, or impossible." - Stuart Landesberg, CEO of Seneca Link to the announcement in comments.

NVIDIA Isaac ROS 5.0 is out today, bringing agentic workflows, ROS Lyrical and Ubuntu 24.04 support, and accelerated perception across the Jetson platform from Orin Nano to Thor. Stereolabs, an Ouster company, is a named ecosystem partner. A vision pipeline is a chain: camera, depth, detection, navigation. On most robots the data between those links detours through the CPU, and every detour costs time and power, often the difference between reacting on time and reacting too late. Stereolabs ZED cameras natively support Isaac ROS and remove that detour. Plug in a ZED, launch it in Isaac ROS, and images and depth stay in GPU memory the whole way through with NVIDIA's NITROS format, so the processor spends its cycles understanding the scene, not shuffling pixels. It is open source and included in the standard ZED ROS 2 software. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/gFKhHij7

In March, Skild AI named Universal Robots a partner to bring its Skild Brain into industrial work. Now we get to see what that looks like. Skild's new foundation model, S1, learns a task from a single video demonstration. No fine-tuning or retraining. Show it once, it runs sequences to ten minutes with dozens of steps. A model that learns this fast comes into its own when paired with trusted industrial hardware. Learn more 👇

  • Excited to see ZED X Mini cameras supporting Scale AI’s latest physical AI data collection setup! 🚀 Looking forward to seeing what models this rich, real-world data will enable. 🤖

VSLAM need reliable hardware. 3DGS navigation, while still “research grade” and of which is one of my current research streams, requires MORE of that reliable hardware. That is why I chose Stereolabs. Research gets slowed down by bugs and reliability issues, wasting time and money. I believe that since their acquisition by Ouster, the combined company synergy puts them in a great position to dominate the market.

Pics from the bench. Today we are assembling the primary visual system for Chip. Our cameras arrived from Stereolabs in France earlier this week and we can’t be more impressed with the build quality. Nice work folks. Next step is cable routing, connection and of course more 3d printing. And oh yeah, there’s software to write too of course :)
