Wishing a productive semester to all of the students heading back to campus soon — including one of our summer interns, Paige!
As I wrap up my summer as a Supply Chain Management Intern at Petoskey Plastics, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on an incredible experience. Over the past few months, I had the opportunity to work alongside talented professionals and collaborate across multiple departments on projects focused on process optimization, operational efficiency, and cost savings. From analyzing packaging and pallet configurations to mapping end-to-end material flow and conducting ROI and cost-savings analyses, every project challenged me to think critically and apply what I've learned in the classroom to real-world supply chain operations. This internship has strengthened my analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills while giving me a greater appreciation for the impact supply chain professionals have on an organization's success. A highlight of this summer was the opportunity to present my final internship presentation in front of the Petoskey Plastics Executive Leadership Team. It was an incredible opportunity to share my work with company leadership, strengthen my presentation skills, and gain valuable feedback from executives. A huge thank you to everyone at Petoskey Plastics, especially Paul Shepard and Rachel Green, who took the time to mentor, support, and invest in my growth throughout the summer. I'm incredibly grateful for the knowledge, guidance, and relationships I've gained. As I head back to Michigan State University for my senior year, I'm excited to continue building on this experience and preparing for a career in supply chain management. Thank you again, Petoskey Plastics—I’m looking forward to seeing what the future holds! #SupplyChain #SupplyChainManagement #Internship #Operations #ContinuousImprovement #MichiganState #EliBroadCollegeOfBusiness #ProfessionalDevelopment

Thank you to the Plastics Industry Association and its industry leaders for taking the time to travel and visit us. We appreciated the opportunity to demonstrate how used plastics are recycled in everyday operations and how flexible films can be remanufactured into useful products for daily life. Your visit helped highlight the importance of collaboration, innovation, and responsible plastics management in building a more sustainable future!
Great visit earlier this week to Petoskey Plastics' recycling center in Hartford City, Indiana, seeing firsthand post-consumer plastic film being transformed back into high-quality blown film products. The facility is a powerful example of the circular economy in action and a testament to the important work being done every day to advance recycling, sustainability, and innovation across our industry. PLASTICS President & CEO Matt Seaholm, Vice President of Communications Shira Rawlinson, and Senior Director of Industry Engagement Leslie Jutte appreciated the opportunity to connect with the Petoskey leadership team to discuss key industry priorities, opportunities, and challenges facing plastics manufacturers today. Thank you for welcoming us, for your steadfast commitment to sustainability, and your continued investment to the industry. We look forward to continuing our work together. #PlasticRecycling #PlasticManufacturing #PlasticsIndustry

Our team always enjoys connecting with like-minded, local sustainability leaders! We hope to catch you at future events, but feel free to reach out to use to talk recycling and sustainability anytime. #SustainableManufacturing #RecycledPlastics
Petoskey Plastics was proud to support the NextCycle Michigan 2026 Summer Showcase in Traverse City. I had the opportunity to attend alongside Darcy Wright and hear 15 innovative teams pitch their reuse, recycling, and recovery solutions to potential investors. The real winner, however, is the state of Michigan! These entrepreneurs are helping build a stronger circular economy by finding new ways to reduce waste, recover valuable materials, and create sustainable economic opportunities across our state. You can learn about each one on Nextcyce’s website. NextCycle is an initiative of Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy ♻️P.S. If your organization is exploring recycled-content products or closed-loop solutions for film, bags, or custom packaging, I'd welcome a conversation about how Petoskey Plastics can help.
