During the previous LFX Mentorship term, we worked on something I was especially excited about — a VS Code extension for Microcks The idea was simple: bring Microcks closer to the developer’s inner loop, so you can work with API mocks, contract testing, dry-runs, and local/remote Microcks environments without constantly jumping between your editor, terminal, and the UI. The first version is now working and testable, thanks to some great work during the mentorship. The next question is more important though: does the Microcks community actually want this? Before moving the project under the Microcks organization and taking it further toward the VS Code Marketplace / OpenVSX, we want to make that decision openly and based on real community feedback. So we’ve opened a GitHub discussion where you can try the extension, share how it fits into your workflow, point out the rough edges, or simply tell us whether you think this is something Microcks should officially support. If you use Microcks, especially with VS Code, Cursor, Windsurf, VSCodium, Theia, or similar editors, we’d really appreciate your feedback.
