  • 🌱 JSON Schema Ecosystem Update! Meet JSON Design Studio, a free IDE for working with JSON and JSON Schema. Currently at v0.7.0, the project is still in pre-release and is available for macOS, with a Linux port being considered. It’s free to use for both personal and commercial projects, and a 1.0 release is planned for later this year. We are always excited to see new tools and ideas helping people work with JSON and JSON Schema. If you work with JSON Schema, take a look and explore what JSON Design Studio has to offer. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eMzUhqAA

  • 🌱 Ecosystem update from the JSON Schema community! A community member has just released a free Chrome extension that generates readable HTML documentation from a JSON Schema. You can use a schema from the current browser tab, paste JSON directly, or select a local file and Schemas are limited to 50 KB and are sent to the JSONBuddy API only when documentation generation is requested. Chrome Web Store: https://lnkd.in/e2ZX7htJ It’s great to see community members building practical tools that make working with JSON Schema a little easier. If you work with schemas regularly, give it a try and let us know what you think!

Google Summer of Code (GSoC) 2026 with JSON Schema is officially a wrap! 🎉 We are incredibly happy to share that all 5 GSoC projects with JSON Schema were successfully completed! 🚀 Over the past few months, our contributors have explored ideas, written code, solved problems, learned from mentors, and made meaningful contributions to the JSON Schema ecosystem. Watching these projects move from ideas to completed work has been a wonderful reminder of what open source can make possible when people come together to learn, build, and share. A huge thank you to our contributors: Sumit Goyal, Tushar Verma, Rodiat Hammed, Vidit Agarwal, Diya Srivastava for choosing JSON Schema as a place where you wanted to contribute, learn, and grow. Your curiosity, persistence, and willingness to engage with the community made this experience special. 💙 And of course, this wouldn’t have been possible without our incredible mentors: Jason Desrosiers, Matthew Adams, Juan Cruz Viotti, Agnivesh Chaubey, Jagpreet Singh Rahi, Julian Berman for sharing your knowledge, providing guidance, reviewing work, and supporting our contributors throughout the program. Thank you also to our GSoC Org Admin, Onyedikachi Amaechi-Okorie, for helping make the entire program possible and keeping everything moving behind the scenes. But this isn’t goodbye because the projects may be complete, but the journey continues. Our contributors are still building, learning, contributing, and actively becoming part of the JSON Schema community. We’re excited to see where they take their work next and hopefully welcome even more contributors into the community along the way. 🔎 Curious about the projects and ideas we explored? View all the GSoC 2026 project ideas: https://lnkd.in/dRqybMyf Congratulations to everyone involved! Here’s to more learning, more contributions, and more open source together. 💚 🎉

Ecosystem update: TypeDriver 🎉 What happens when you bring TypeScript’s type system and JSON Schema validation together? TypeDriver is a runtime type system from a community contribution that compiles TypeScript, JSON Schema, and Standard Schema definitions into high-performance JSON Schema validators, while also providing static type inference. It is an interesting project for anyone working at the intersection of TypeScript, JSON Schema, validation, and developer tooling, particularly with its support for programmable types and JSON Schema 2020-12. Have a look, try it out, and let us know what you think. https://lnkd.in/e4T_tUiz
