Free software is about making it possible for others to freely build on your work. This is an amazing example of that! We're thrilled that Fatiando tools helped make this possible.
Teaching coding to geoscience students is not easy. Leonardo Uieda explains well why geoscientists should code (https://lnkd.in/evQPKqej). I started with Jupyter notebooks, inspired by GPG: https://gpg.geosci.xyz/ Notebooks worked for geophysicists, but I still lost students from other geoscience fields. This year I built interactive browser pages on top of open-source tools. Students change a parameter and see the gravity response right away, from principles and survey design to corrections, gridding, modelling and inversion. The code is there if they want it. Built on Fatiando a Terra (Verde, Harmonica, Boule, Choclo, Bordado), pyGIMLi, SimPEG, GemPy and PyGMT. All cited. It worked well, also for the non-geophysicists.
