Got third at COMMA_HACK 7 this weekend with Kellen Heraty. We brought Navigate on Openpilot back, running on chestnut, comma's new external GPU for the comma four. The driving model gets a nav map and takes turns on its own instead of just lane keeping. We ran it in a simulator using BeamNG.drive with a comma four and chestnut in the loop doing the actual inference. Red lights did not want to work for most of Saturday. They work now. Thanks to the comma.ai team for hosting.

There's ~50k cars driving on real roads running openpilot. It's the most important open-source robotics project today. We are still very very early to robotics, and like OSs and LLMs, open-source will win in the end. It's gonna be an wild ride. Sound exciting? Then come work at comma.ai ! Anthropic is now a banned vendor at comma.ai. I recommend other companies do the same. People should consider how reliant they are on cloud token vendors. If you can't brainstorm, code or be productive without them, you should be scared. Regain your sovereignty or you're ngmi.
