We're in the business of reader bliss. The kind that comes from finding a book (or twelve) you didn't know you needed at a price that makes you do a double take (in a good way). At Book Outlet, we're giving brand new books a second chance at finding love. Before Book Outlet, we spent 15 years as Book Closeouts and Book Express. Then, in 2013, we levelled up — launching Book Outlet, the direct-to-consumer brand you know (and love) today. Together, we donated 10,804 books—now making their way into the hands of young readers and supporting programs across communities. Thank you for turning your love of reading into real impact!
We are so grateful to Book Outlet for selecting The Children’s Book Bank as a charity partner in their Giving Tuesday campaign! Every book purchased through Book Outlet on December 2nd was matched with a book donated to The Children’s Book Bank. The result of this campaign was an incredible donation of 10,804 books, which arrived in last month! Book Outlet provided us with the incredible opportunity to choose the books that would be donated, allowing us to tailor the books to the needs and wants of our communities. The books were chosen by staff from across all four of our locations and will serve as the foundation for book clubs and many other programs throughout 2026. This donation also plays a key role in expanding the diversity of our collection—not only in our everyday selection, but in how we highlight important dates and holidays that reflect cultures and communities from around the world. These books are already being distributed in our Book Bank spaces, bringing joy to hundreds of children, and will continue to support thousands more in the months ahead. The impact this has made on our organization cannot be understated.
