"We are planning to use surround sound and optional widescreen modes in all of our games in the future," a Nintendo spokesperson told IGN64.
Nintendo is reportedly also talking to Dolby Labs to acquire the official Dolby stamp of approval for its MoSys surround system, developed by San Rafael-based Factor 5.
The first game on the Nintendo 64 to include a 16x9 widescreen mode was Rare's GoldenEye. All upcoming Rare titles, including Jet Force Gemini, Donkey Kong 64 and Perfect Dark will utilize both the optional 16x9 view and Dolby Pro-Logic Surround sound.
