Can two people fall in love sight unseen? Thirty New England singles are about to find out in the newest season of Netflix’s hit dating show “Love is Blind.”
Hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey return for Season 11, which brings the pods to Boston for the first time.
How does “Love is Blind” work?
“Love is Blind” follows singles through a “social experiment” where looks are taken out of the equation. Contestants begin the show in private pods, speed dating each other by talking through a wall, and revealing themselves only if they get engaged. From there, the new couples spend a week together on a tropical vacation.
The real test begins once they return home to live in production-provided housing, meet each other’s loved ones, and test their real-world compatibility as their wedding day approaches. In the final episodes, we see if the couples say “I do” or walk away from the altar.
When does “Love is Blind” Season 11 premiere?
The season premieres October 14 on Netflix, with an initial five-episode drop. New episodes of “Love is Blind” will be released each Wednesday in batches.
- October 14: Episodes 1-5
- October 21: Episodes 6-8
- October 28: Episodes 9-11
- November 4: Episode 12
Who is in the “Love is Blind” Season 11 cast?
Fourteen men are entering the pods, including a yacht captain who’s twice sailed across the Atlantic, a boxer who works part time as a bouncer at a popular Southie bar, and a beekeeper.
How do they describe Boston’s dating scene? “Monotonous” and full of people who’ve “got kind of an attitude.” But they have high hopes for the experience — one even gave up “peak ski season” to enter the pods.
Among the sixteen women are a biotech engineer, an orthodontist, a NICU nurse, and an entrepreneur who says she typically avoids dating Boston men.
They’ve come to the pods looking for love with real New England charm: One wants to go skating at the Frog Pond with her future husband, while another dreams of staying in the city forever and raising “Bostonian babies.”
