MLB Stats for Konnor Griffin

"Konnor Griffin has rapidly established himself as one of the most dynamic teenage talents in professional baseball, pairing elite athleticism, plus-plus speed, and a five-tool ceiling that evaluators at Baseball America and MLB Pipeline now grade as No. 1 in all of Minor League Baseball. His offensive profile already flashes above-average hit ability (55) and emerging power (55–60 future), backed by a historic first full season in which he hit .333 with 21 home runs and 65 stolen bases, becoming the first teenager since Andruw Jones and Ronald Acuña Jr. to pair 20+ homers with 40+ steals. Defensively, Griffin's Gold Glove-caliber shortstop play—highlighted by elite range, soft hands, and a plus arm (60)—earned him Pittsburgh's Bill Mazeroski Defender of the Year award. Though he was a two-way star in high school with a mid-90s fastball and a wipeout breaking ball, the Pirates have unlocked his superstar trajectory as a full-time position player, where his athleticism and bat speed translate cleanly. With three-level dominance, a Futures Game start, and unanimous national awards—including Baseball America Minor League Player of the Year Award—Konnor Griffin now projects as a franchise cornerstone whose blend of power, speed, and defensive impact is rarely seen in a teenage prospect. His combination of production, tools, and age makes him one of the most projectable young shortstops the Pirates have developed in decades." - Baseball Almanac. 4 April 2026.
