Royal blue blindstamp bordered cloth, gilt spine lettering, 254 pages with index, color illustrated dustjacket. The book is in generally good condition, with minor adhesive tape residue at top and bottom edges of each cover, front free endpaper missing, lightly rubbed spine ends and corners, sound text block, good hinges, clean pages with no names or other markings. The mylar protected dustjacket is not priceclipped and in very good condition with lightly rubbed spine ends.. First US Edition. Hard Cover. Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7" - 9" tall.

    This is a solid, if uninspired, survey history of the Tsarist and successor Soviet navies. That Navy's ambitions of global reach and use as a tool of state policy in the Baltic, Black, and Mediterranean seas are particularly interesting.
