EWG discussed §2.4 of this paper in Kona on Thursday morning in response to cplusplus/nbballot#764 and cplusplus/nbballot#654, and took the following polls:

US 131-195 [meta.reflection.annotation] Support annotations on function parameters - we want to pursue a change for C++26

    SF F N A SA
    11 13 3 6 1

    consensus.

US 42-078 9.13.12p1 [dcl.attr.annotation] Allow annotations of function parameters - we want to pursue a change for C++26
    no objection to unanimous consent.

Forward §2.4 of P3795R0 - Miscellaneous Reflection Cleanup to CWG for inclusion in C++26 in response to US 131-195 and US 42-078

    SF F N A SA
    9 17 0 2 1

    consensus.

Note @jensmaurer : EWG discussed ONE section of this (2.4) and forwarded it for C++26 in response to a pair of NB comments. LEWG is likely to still want to discuss the other parts, but they are only vaguely related

CWG 2025-11-07 in Kona: Reviewed P3795R0; needs updates.

Question for EWG regarding explicit instantiations:

    • queries for annotations on the function itself do include annotations on explicit instantiations
    • identifier queries for the function parameters ignore explicit instantiations
    • queries for annotations on the function parameters appear to be intended to include annotations on explicit instantiations

CWG felt this was inconsistent and asks EWG to review that inconsistency for rationale and/or rectify it.
