Verizon Communications Inc. said its finance chief is leaving and named a new head of its consumer business, a management shuffle that sets up a contest to succeed Chief Executive Officer Hans Vestberg.
The shake-up comes as Verizon’s consumer group, its largest division, has struggled to hang on to its core subscriber base in competition from rivals AT&T Inc. and T-Mobile US Inc.
